The sisters and neighbors of Lugo de Llanera, Belén and Lucía Soto Martínez, were proclaimed badminton champions of Asturias. Belén plays in the sub-13 category and last Sunday, November 6, she was proclaimed individual Asturias champion, although she also disputed the championship for mixed doubles, in the sub-17 category, but she had to withdraw.
Lucía, meanwhile, competes in the sub-15 category and was the champion of Asturias in singles and doubles, along with her partner, Paloma Álvarez of the Vegadeo badminton team. The championships were held in Oviedo and the two sisters are part of the Oviedo Badminton club. Both are immersed in the preparation of the national championships, Belén will compete in Murcia and Lucía will compete in Huelva, in December with 15 days difference.
