The Argentinian striker has yet to get going at Eintracht Frankfurt. He has to improve significantly.

Frankfurt – It is not without a certain piquancy that Lucas Alario, who has been at Eintracht Frankfurt didn’t get going at all, scored his only Bundesliga goal for Hessen against his former club Bayer Leverkusen. He only needed a few minutes of play, ten, he’s used to that, he’s not getting more at the moment. And he must his competitors and colleagues Rafael Borre Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the goal to make it 5-1, because the Colombian could have scored it in a situation similar to Alario’s, but Borré played across the goal on his own and gave the Argentine the goal. A remarkable achievement.

The unselfishness was the extraordinary, not the goal, anyone in the stadium would have pushed that ball over the line, Lucas Alario was nonetheless very happy.

Lucas Alario at Eintracht Frankfurt – Strikers are measured by their goals

Strikers are measured by their goals. Strikers like Lucas Alario even more so. Because the man from the province of Santa Fe in the north-west of the second largest South American country, known to his compatriots as el Pipa, the whistle, because of the shape of his nose, is an attacker who clicks, who completes, who leads the final to a happy ending, which others are preparing to have. The 30-year-old is not a combiner, preparer, hanger. Angry tongue saying: He doesn’t play, he scores goals. So far only this one (and another in the first round of the cup in Magdeburg).

They are not so terribly satisfied at Eintracht Frankfurt with their new acquisition from Bayer 04 for six million euros. They expected more from him than the sporting director had said Markus Krösche praised the attacker. The Argentinian’s performances have so far lacked the necessary pep, there is too little vigor in the game of the nine-time national player, who has also rarely been conspicuous in the penalty area.

He wanted to “fight for a starting place, of course,” he said in an FR interview in late summer, and he didn’t even see the train to Qatar leaving for himself at the time. It has long been clear: Instead of going to Doha, he flew to Tokyo with Eintracht, even there, for example in the friendly against Urawa Red Diamonds, he was hardly noticed in a team with almost exclusively youth players. He would have to go a step further to at least be substituted on more often. To top dog Randal Color he won’t come by anytime soon anyway.

Off to the desert

Eintracht Frankfurt will prepare for the continuation of the Bundesliga in the desert emirate of Dubai. At the beginning of January, the entourage will travel to Arabia to get the finishing touches for the second half of the year, which begins on January 21 with the home game against FC Schalke 04. A corresponding report by “Bild” coincides with information from FR.

To select also stood to open the quarters like in the years before Corona in the USA. Or to travel to Abu Dhabi again, where Eintracht resided in the luxurious Emirates Palace for five years in a row (2013 to 2017). However, the sporting director decided in favor of Dubai. After the three-week vacation (from December 10th), coach Oliver Glasner invites his team to start training at the Waldstadion on January 4th. FR

Lucas Alario at Eintracht Frankfurt – not satisfied with the status quo

So far he has played in 15 games, but only for 315 minutes (of a possible 1350), twice he was in the starting XI, once only played the full distance, of all things in the disastrous 0:3 at VfL Bochum. Of course, Alario, who is in a relationship with Argentina national hockey player Augustina Alberatario, isn’t happy with his current status quo either. In Leverkusen he was usually not a regular player, but he was a great player, scoring 58 times in 164 competitive games in six years, and in the last round he made 33 competitive games and seven goals.

In Frankfurt, he was conspicuous mainly because of his forgiven “Kaiser”. Against Hertha Berlin on the second matchday, he pushed the ball next to the orphaned goal from a very short distance. There were already memories of the legendary Theo Gekas, who had a similarly high-profile chance in the relegation year of 2011 Bayern Munich had forgiven.

Lucas Alario at Frankfurt – postponed until

Lucas Alario, still on contract until 2025, will have to work harder to be able to play more often. It’s not easy given the competition and the tactical approach with just one point. Especially since Alario didn’t ignite even when he was supposed to move something as a so-called crowbar in games in the backlog. That’s why he gets this blue letter as food for thought. Meanwhile, that is much more positive Interim conclusion for Eric Dina Ebimbe out. This proved to be flexible in the course of the first half of the season with strong performances.
