Djuka asks Montenegro not to be summoned in the next call to focus on Sporting

Uros Djurdjevic has recently transferred to the Montenegrin Federation his firm intention not to be part of the next international summons with a view to the friendlies that they have to play this same month of November: on Thursday the 17th against Slovakia in Montenegro, and the 20 against Slovenia at home. Djuka has asked the Montenegrin national coach, Miodraj “Mijo” Radulovic, to stay out of this window only so that he can focus exclusively on Sporting. Thus, in the event that Montenegro authorizes the striker’s request, as planned, according to different sources, he will be at Abelardo’s disposal for the match against Leganés that the rojiblancos will play at El Molinón on Saturday, November 19 (6:30 p.m.). . It is not the first time that the 23 puts the interests of Sporting before those of Montenegro, knowing that this type of gesture is not very well seen from the Federation.

In March 2021, for example, he announced that he would not go with his team to play two friendlies that were held in June if they coincided with a hypothetical play-off for promotion to the First Division. As in last season, when he agreed with Mijo Radulovic to return to Gijón earlier than planned and not be part of the second of the scheduled matches to help a Sporting that was looking to get away from the relegation places. Now, this decision is very important due to the fact that he is going through one of his worst moments in terms of scoring efficiency at the rojiblanco club and experiencing a complicated situation due to the increase in internal competition after the goals from Cristo and Campuzano and the good level offered by Milo in his minutes against Albacete. Djuka has not scored since matchday 2 in the League, when he scored a brace in the 4-1 win against Andorra. When Abelardo decided to replace him on Thursday with Milo, two opposing sounds were heard at El Molinón: timid beeps and applause.

The striker maintains the total confidence of the coaches and the red and white sports management, despite recent problems with the goal. With the arrival of Orlegi Sports to the entity, Djuka renewed for five more years, until 2027, in an operation that was very difficult to unblock due to the differences between the objectives of both parties and because it had clubs bidding hard.
