Departmental cup of judo black belts this November 11 in Hirson

Meet on Friday November 11 at the Salle Michel Carpentier in Hirson for the 20th Departmental cup of judo black belts.

The twentieth departmental cup for black belts, organized by the Aisne departmental judo committee, the Judo-club Hirsonnais, with the support of the municipal sports office and the City of Hirson, will take place in the Michel Carpentier room, Friday, November 11.

Friendly named “La coupe du maroilles”, due to the support of the Lesire et Roger cheese dairy, it allows judokas to leave with a maroilles at the end of the competition. This has brought together for three years the black belts of the department, as well as those of Hauts-de-France and recently, some competitors from the Marne and even the Moselle. They are joined for this day by the brown belts in search of points to pass to the higher rank.

In previous years, the tournament was preceded, in the morning, by a technical course led by Serge Feist, regional technical manager and black belt 9th dan. Unfortunately, for three years, the passages of the high grades taking place in Paris at the National Institute of Judo, each November 11, Serge Feist is unavailable.

A growing success

Hirson then welcomed Lilian Barreyre, technical manager of Hauts de France. But faced with the constantly growing number of participants, the organizers had to resolve to cancel this course, to accommodate brown belts in the morning and black belts in the afternoon.

The twentieth edition will certainly be hotly contested since already 85 brown belts have announced their participation as well as 54 black belts.

Among the competitors who will be particularly to be watched, we note the presence of Yann Caron de Gauchy, Florian Darricau, Olivier Ella, from the sports studies section of Strasbourg, Alexandre Gilbaut from the sports studies section of Reims, Florent Wiseur, Tom Lecocq, Julien Chanon, Cyril and Cédric Aubry and Maxime Rzepka.

Among the girls, Camille Huguet, Zoé Perrenoud, Justine Macadré are among the favorites. For sure, the battle will be close and the show of quality.

Jean-Claude Jehin, president of the departmental committee, concluded: “Originally, when we embarked on the adventure, no one seemed to believe in the future of this competition. Yet today we have reached the 20th edition of this competition, which is enjoying ever-increasing success…” Terms taken up by the mayor, Jean-Jacques Thomas, who is and was, from the start, an unconditional supporter of this event.
