On Wednesday evening in Malaga, two people stormed the tennis court and tried to tie themselves to the net. They wore a T-shirt with the inscription “Futuro Vegetal” (German: “vegetarian future”).

Despite resistance, security forces were able to prevent the planned action in time and took one person away in handcuffs.

The incident happened in the middle of the second set in the match between Spain’s Roberto Bautista Agut (34) and Croatia’s Borna Coric (26). The game resumed after a few moments.

At the Laver Cup of tennis professionals in September, a climate activist set his arm on fire on the court. Similar protests were also held in the Bundesliga this year.

At the end of August, in the game between FC Bayern Munich and Borussia Mönchengladbach, activists stormed onto the field and tried to chain themselves to the post.
