According to the report, Zidane will get David Bettoni as his assistant coach, who was also part of his team at Real.

The former world-class player, who has been on a break since the end of his tenure at Los Blancos, announced his imminent comeback at an event in Paris at the end of October: “When will you see me on a bench again? Soon soon. I’m not far from doing it again.”

Zidane, world and European champion as a player, resigned as coach of Real Madrid in June 2021. He had led the royal team to the Champions League title three times. Since then he has turned down numerous offers. For example, PSG and Manchester United are said to have been interested in a commitment.

Zidane has made no secret of the fact that he enjoys spending time with his family and away from the daily challenges of a job as a club coach. And that he hopes to become the French national coach. In June he told L’Equipe: “I hope to be one day. My deep longing is there. The French team is the most beautiful thing there is.”

Deschamps has been France national team coach since 2012. The coach led the Equipe Tricolore to the world title in 2018 and would like to repeat this success in Qatar. As a player, Deschamps was also world champion with the French national team (1998) and also won the European title (2000). He also won the Champions League twice with Olympique Marseille (1993) and Juventus Turin (1996).
