Club Brugge’s coffers full after the group stage

Author of an 11/18, Club Brugge bailed out the coffers significantly during this first part of the European campaign.

In the Champions League, Club Brugge impressed everyone. With 11 points collected out of a possible 18, Carl Hoefkens’ men brilliantly gleaned second place in the group, synonymous with qualification for the quarter-finals of the competition. If the Blauw & Zwart now have to wait for the draw to estimate their chances of joining the quarter-finals, a first balance sheet can already be drawn, and it is very interesting.

Indeed, this Champions League companion has already brought in 47.5M € for the Venice of the North club. The starting bonus was €27.6m, and the Gazelles pocketed a further €8.4m for their successes and €1.86m for the splits. Finally, qualification for the 1/8th final brought in more than €10m for the Club.

If some potential adversaries seem within reach of the people of Bruges, it will however be necessary to wait for the draw to assess the chances of Club Brugge to pocket the qualification bonus for the quarter-finals of 10.6M €.
