The international judoka Cinta García, champion of Spain in the -48 kilos category in 2019, has announced her retirement from high competition and stated that she is ending her career grateful to judo, a sport that has taught her “to be a better person ” and to “fight” for what he “really” wants.

In statements to Efe, the woman from Huelva explained that she is not leaving the competition because of the injuries that have been accompanying her in recent years, but because she has considered that she wants to finish her “stage”.

“I can only get the best out of it, because judo has taught me to get up every day and fight for the goals I set for myself,” said Cinta García, who was ninth in an Absolute World Championship, double European bronze under-23 and winner of 16 medals. international and 12 national.

In a letter on social networks, he acknowledged that it is the “most difficult decision” of his life, “the one that hurts the most and is difficult to take”, although it is a thoughtful outcome, since “it has cost him almost two years of turning to the head and to think”.

The judoka indicated that she retires knowing that she has given “the best” of herself “in each training session and competition, achieving many goals, experiences and learning, and highlighting very good results.”

“I will always be united with him, in any way, because he has been, is and will be a great part of my life”; expressed about his sport, which he said he will continue to enjoy teaching children because “every day”, when he puts on his kimono and sees them “enter so happy”, “they make him smile” and “make him happy”.

In her farewell, the woman from Huelva thanked the support received from her first coach, Luis Vázquez, and from her current coaches at Club Huelva TSV, Santiago Bernárdez and Almudena Gómez, to whom she gives “a great deal of blame” for having reached “the being a high-level athlete”, and to the various professionals who have helped him.

Cinta García also thanked his teammates, especially his brother Francis, with whom he has trained “every day”; to institutions such as the Andalusian and Spanish Judo Federations, the Provincial Council and the Huelva City Council; and, especially, to Inma, her partner, who “supports him day after day in every decision” he makes.
