Blau-Weiss Hollage eV: Judo exercise days in the kindergartens

The judo department of Blau-Weiss Hollage used the autumn holidays to carry out one-day judo exercise days in all eight Wallenhorst day-care centers and in the St. Martinus KiTa in Bramsche. Thanks to the commitment of twelve Hollager judo trainers, it was possible to make the sport of judo better known in the community and beyond and to bring it directly to the children. For three hours in the morning, the predominantly young Hollager trainers visited the various facilities and primarily taught the preschool children the basics of the gentle way with playful tasks based on the concept of the German Judo Association “Learn Judo by playing”. The trainers came across mostly enthusiastic children and many newcomers.

Together with the ten days of action in the Hollage Johannisschule and the Hollage Erich-Kästner-School in the second half of September, the judoka from Benkenbusch gave more than 500 children an insight into Japanese martial arts in six weeks.

The school and day-care center project was funded by the LandesSportBund Niedersachsen with the “Startklar in die Zukunft” project.

Interested people who want to deepen their judo skills are cordially invited to visit the training courses offered by the judo department. Children between the ages of 4-6 years can take part in Judolino training. This takes place every Monday from 4:30 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. at Jennifer Juber’s. Interested parties between the ages of 6 and 12 can spontaneously join the new judo beginner’s course (starting on November 5th). This always takes place on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Niclas Felker’s. Older people are also invited to judo training.
