Baseball: Second World Series win for the Astros

Five years after the fraud scandal

Houston Astros baseball champion again

The Houston Astros win the World Series for the second time. The team from Texas wins the sixth game against the Philadelphia Phillies 4:1 and the best-of-7 series 4:2.

The Houston Astros players celebrate their second win of the Major League Baseball World Series.

At 73, Dusty Baker became the oldest coach to win a championship in any of North America’s four major sports leagues. ‘What’s next? I said if I win a championship, I want to win a second one,” Baker said after his first title in 25 years as a Major League Baseball head coach. Jeremy Pena won the title straight away. The rookie became the third “rookie” in World Series history to be named MVP.

It’s the second title for the Astros after 2017, when the team was found to have cheated, and has been viewed with great scrutiny by many baseball fans ever since. But the Astros remained sporty even after the scandal and some personal consequences and penalties. They’ve reached at least the American League Finals every year since. (SDA)
