Barcelona ultras destroy a bar in Pamplona and leave three injured

The attack of a group of ultras of Barcelona in a bar in Pamplona has left three injured, still without an official prognosis, and a destroyed bar in the Iturrama neighborhood, the usual meeting place for Red forcethe radical fans of health, according to ‘Noticias de Navarra’. The event occurred hours before the Osasuna-Barcelona match corresponding to matchday 14 of LaLiga.

According to ‘Diario de Navarra’, the altercation took place in the Bar Espala, on Calle San Juan Bosco, about two kilometers from the El Sadar stadium. According to witnesses, a large group of Barcelona ultras arrived at the scene in several vehicles and entered the tavern armed with sticks. They then began to cause damage to the premises until they destroyed it. There were also launches of flares. Three people have been injured.

Osasuna has condemned the events through its social networks: «Club Atlético Osasuna strongly condemns the violent incidents carried out by ultras of Fútbol Club Barcelona this afternoon in Pamplona. Likewise, the entity expresses its solidarity with those affected and makes itself available to the attacked fans. The club ratifies its total opposition to any sign of violence, racism, xenophobia and intolerance in sport and expresses its wish that tonight’s match takes place with absolute normality.

Shortly after, it was Barcelona who joined the condemnation: «FC Barcelona regrets and condemns the acts of vandalism carried out this afternoon by ultra fans in the city of Pamplona. President Joan Laporta has been in contact with the president of Club Atlético Osasuna, Luis Sabalza, to share the Navarrese team’s rejection of what happened between radical fans.

FC Barcelona strongly rejects any act of violence inside and outside football stadiums and reaffirms its commitment to the fight against any form of violence associated with the world of sport. In addition, the Club once again makes itself available to the security forces and bodies, and to all the agents involved, to put an end to those groups that practice it systematically«.

Members of the Municipal Police have come to the scene and have cordoned off the area, while the National Police has taken charge of the investigation.
