Balcer got little playing time in the Panthers’ loss

The “Panthers” lost 1-3 (0-0, 1-1, 0-2) to the Arizona “Coyotes” on the road, suffering their third loss in the last four matches.

The Latvian spent only 9:31 minutes on the field in this game, during which he made one shot on goal and earned a neutral efficiency ratio. He has been scoreless in five games in a row. Balcer has three (2+1) points in ten games this season.

In the second period, both teams exchanged goals, but in the 49th minute, Nick Ritchie put the “Coyotes” team in the lead. “Panthers” were able to fight back, moreover, at the beginning of the penultimate minute of regular time, the home team sent the puck into an empty Florida goal. The guests had a significant advantage in shots in this match – “Panthers” made 42 shots on the home team’s goal, while the home team responded with 21 shots.

With 11 points in ten matches, “Panthers” fell to tenth place in the Eastern Conference. The team’s next game is scheduled for Friday night as a guest against Balcer’s former club San Jose “Sharks”.

On the other hand, in another match, the Pittsburgh “Penguins” suffered their fifth loss in a row, losing 5:6 (1:2, 4:1, 0:2, 0:1) to the Boston “Bruins” in overtime. Pittsburgh is still playing without Latvian forward Teodoras Bļuger, who continues to recover from an injury, but could soon return to the field.

In this battle, the “Penguins” let a 5-2 advantage slip away, and the “Bruins” tied the game with a minute and 17 seconds left in regulation time, when Taylor Hall scored with an accurate shot.

With ten points in ten games, the “Penguins” are only in 13th place in the Eastern Conference.
