Badminton. Top 12. Rostrenen remains confident despite the defeat. Sport

Saturday evening, against Aire-sur-la-Lys, a solid experienced team, the Bad club Rostren suffered a cruel defeat with a score of 3-5. Before the meeting, Rostrenen hoped quite normally, to win the 2 men’s singles and the 2 women’s singles, synonymous with a draw.

But to win, you had to win a doubles. Only Nhat N’Guyen, the Irishman, and Xue-Fei QI won their singles without problems and mastered a mixed doubles where they were associated for the first time.

Unfortunately, two poor performances led to a painful defeat. Danylo Bosniuk, the Ukrainian, first imperial, lacked maturity and showed himself to be fragile against Louis Ducrot who knew how to destabilize him to snatch victory (21-09, 22-24 and 19-21). For her part, the Dane, Julie Dawall-Jakobsen, victim of a tendon overheating, was beaten by abandonment.

“You have to hang on”

The captain, Martin Boiveau analyzes the situation. As long as a match is not over, you have to stay focused. Despite the best team compositions that we can make, there are always hazards and a percentage of uncertainties. Our team has the level, otherwise we would suffer severe individual defeats. However, in several matches we are below and in the others we have to hang on. The situation is not yet dramatic but we still lack experience at this level with a team composed mainly of young players. I’m not worried because I know that, in the worst moments, we have always been able to hold our heads up and we have incredible strength of character. On the other hand, our team is rich in the presence of foreign players who bring us little extras in the way of preparing.

The maintenance, is not yet compromised, but it first passes by a victory in Talence where Rostrenen will move on December 10th.
