Like here at the district championships in judo in March of this year, the Oelsnitz sports hall will again be a meeting point for judoka from near and far on Saturday. But this time not for young talents, but for adults. From 9.30 a.m., ASV Oelsnitz will host the national individual championships for men and women. According to the head of organization Thomas Benkert, it is the first judo competition at state level in Oelsnitz. By the middle of the week, around 35 athletes from 15 Saxon clubs had registered. However, some weight classes have not yet been occupied. The people from Oelsnitz were particularly disappointed by the response from Leipzig. Neither the local judo club nor the Leipzig sports lions reported a single participation in the championship. (tgf)
