After having excellently organized in the summer of 2020, in the midst of the pandemic, one of the four competitions that Fitarco had called “restart competitions”, necessary to be able to draw up regulations that took into account the health emergency, the federation reaffirmed its confidence to the Sportinsieme company – XL Archery Team archery section of Castellarano to host, from today to Sunday, the 30th Italian Championship of the field shooting specialty, the archery discipline in which the Azzurri recently cleared the podium with two gold medals and a bronze at the World Games in Birmingham (USA). The archery discipline of field shooting, which in international terms is defined as “field”, is particularly suitable for enhancing historical places and the scenic and natural beauties of a territory, considering that it takes place along paths with targets positioned on slopes, at distances known and unknown. In the city renowned for its Rocchetta, where the pitches for the decisive challenges for the podium will be set up, a caravan of around 500 archers from every corner of Italy arrived yesterday, from junior classes to masters, who will compete starting today to win the class and overall titles.

DIVISIONS AND COMPETITION FIELDS

The divisions competing at the Tricolori fields are the Olympic archery (recurve), the compound archery, the barebow (barebow) and the longbow. The organizing committee, precisely to make the most of the Castellarano area, has set up 4 competition routes: the 24 qualifying arrows, the preliminary stages and the challenges for the mixed team podium will take place among the routes immersed in the greenery of the Parco dei Popoli and at the San Valentino farmhouse. The absolute team and individual finals will instead be held on Sunday in Piazza XX Luglio, in the historic centre, in and around the Rocchetta di Castellarano. The matches will be broadcast live on the federation’s YouTube channel and a summary will be broadcast on Raisport in the coming days.

Even the results obtained at the recent World Games in Birmingham underlined the ability of Italian archers, capable of winning gold in bare archery with Cinzia Noziglia, who enjoys the favors of the prediction for the Italian flag, gold in women’s recurve with Chiara Rebagliati – who is instead engaged in Medellin for the World Cup – and the bronze with Marco Morello, who will instead attempt the assault on the Italian campaign title in Castellarano, as well as the bare archery specialist Giuseppe Seimandi.
