Alpine skier Zvejnieks takes second place in the FIS slalom competition

Latvia’s leading alpine skier in the men’s competition, Miks Zvejnieks, took second place in the International Ski Federation (FIS) slalom competition in Switzerland on Wednesday.

The fisherman took part in the slalom competition in the Swiss mountain resort of Diavolec for the second day in a row, where he started the season with a victory on Tuesday.

In the first race, the Latvian athlete started with the eighth number and, covering the course in 40.87 seconds, was 0.39 seconds behind the owner of the best result, the Swiss Nik Špori, finishing in the sixth position.

On the other hand, in the second race, he achieved the second best result (43.06 seconds), which allowed him to move up to second place in the sum of two races. The fisherman finished in a total of one minute and 24.03 seconds, which allowed him to finish the competition in second place.

The victory was won by Špori, who was the best in both races, and the Latvian alpine skier lost 0.55 seconds to him. The top three was completed by the Japanese Shiro Aihara, who lost to the owner of the best result by 0.79 seconds.

The fisherman got 27.81 FIS points, but the day before he earned 23 FIS points, his best, for winning the first competition.

The next start for the Latvian mountain skier is planned for November 21 and 22, when he will take part in the FIS-level slalom competition in Suldene, Italy.
