“With the first feedback from parents on the cultural discovery school launched last year, we adjusted as best we could because parents had difficulty bringing their children from schools outside Mauriac. »
The solution of Maxime Dichant-Braud, director of the social center of the territory of Mauriac, was therefore to bring the stakeholders as close as possible to the children: in each school in the territory. “The idea is that they move to the schools of Vigean, Moussages, Drugeac, Chalvignac, Jaleyrac, Sourniac and, always, to Mauriac, continues the director. Cultural and sporting activities this year
The cultural discovery school, which opens after these All Saints holidays, for children aged 3 to 11 (from kindergarten to CM2), thus offers schoolchildren, during extracurricular time, one hour of multiple activities. Visual arts, contemporary, theatre, musical awakening, comics, engraving, textile activities… will be offered to schoolchildren in the Pays de Mauriac, each week, in workshops. New: sports activities (team sports, archery) are also entering the system of this school, outside the school but in the school (or rooms loaned by the communities).

“We added the discovery of sports disciplines with the idea that the children could then go see or practice in the existing associations on the territory. Like “knowing how to ride a bike” for the safety aspect of driving, a new request from National Education, as had been “knowing how to swim”. In total, four cultural or sporting activities will therefore be offered to children over a cycle of six to seven sessions during the school year. »
