2022-23 basketball season has started in Afyonkarahisar – Kocatepe Newspaper

The 2022-23 basketball season, organized by the Provincial Representative of the Basketball Federation, has started. 65 teams and 876 licensed athletes will compete in 9 branches during the season.

The basketball competitions to be held in Afyonkarahisar will be held in 9 branches in total. A total of 15 girls and 50 boys’ teams will compete in the junior U-11 and U-12 girls categories, as well as in the big, young star, junior, junior and U-10 boys categories. A total of 876 athletes from 65 teams will take the field as licensed. In the leagues, which started on Tuesday with the first matches, 20 matches will be played per week and 80 matches will be played in total for the season. Basketball Provincial Representative Feyzullah Demirkale said in a statement that a total of 38 coaches in the province have completed their undergraduate education and been visaed. Demirkale said, “As Afyonkarahisar, we are the 21st in Turkey in terms of the number of licensed athletes in competitions, including most major cities, with a success above Turkey’s average. I would like to thank all the athletes, trainers, managers, Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports, Provincial Referee Board and Provincial Organizing Committee for their support of the organization.
