2 NBA stars are playing at an even higher level this season

It’s one thing to become an NBA star and maintain that level of play over time, but it’s another to take your game to an even higher level.

This season has already seen a number of players elevate their production to new heights, but these two stars have particularly garnered attention and recognition for playing arguably the best basketball of their lives.

Anthony Davis – Los Angeles Lakers

Davis was a big player for a number of years, and he has eight All-Star appearances and four All-NBA and All-Defensive selections to his name.

But over the past two seasons he has been criticized even by his own team’s fans for being lazy and passive as he has been riddled with injuries and seen his production plummet.

But so far this season, Davis appears to be back to the level of production he displayed in the Lakers’ 2019-20 championship season.

He’s averaging 26.3 points, 12.8 rebounds, 1.6 steals and 2.2 blocked shots per game while shooting 57.0 percent from the field, and he’s coming off an incredible four-game streak. consecutive with at least 30 points and 15 rebounds.

Donovan Mitchell – Cleveland Cavaliers

As a member of the Utah Jazz, Mitchell was a very good player who played in three straight All-Star games and had a number of great playoff performances.

But so far this year, he’s taken things to a new level with the Cavaliers, averaging 30.0 points and 5.4 assists per game on 50.1% total shooting and 42.5 % over 3-point range, all of which are career highs.

Mitchell teamed up with fellow All-Star Darius Garland to give Cleveland arguably the best backcourt in the NBA, and together they made their team a potential championship contender.
