Togashi, who has been unable to connect with fans due to the coronavirus pandemic, said, “I’m happy because there weren’t many events with this sense of distance.”

Togashi is involved in the development of “Zamst BRAVE-PAD SHORTS”, shorts with pads that reduce damage to the thighs and hips. He talks about the development behind-the-scenes, saying that he “requested meticulously” about the thickness and position of the pad, and puts a lot of trust in him, saying, “I’m scared if I’m not wearing this.”

“Zamst has an image that many people, including famous athletes overseas, use it, and I would be happy if Zamst released a product that would reduce injuries to athletes in the future.” He told me about his thoughts on Zamst.

The talk show held in a relaxed atmosphere became the topic of this summer’s national team activities.

When asked who the teammate left an impression on him, he immediately answered, “Yutaro Suda (Nagoya Diamond Dolphins).” In the match against Syria in the FIBA Asian Cup Qualifying League held in July, we picked up the performance that scored 33 points, the highest score in one game, with 9 3-point shots. “I was really shooting from practice, so I thought, ‘I’m in good shape,’ but I didn’t think I could get that many shots,” he recalled.

At the same time, he said about Yuki Kawamura (Yokohama B-Corsairs), “I didn’t think we’d be wearing the Hinomaru flag together so soon.” Togashi, who has been highly evaluating Kawamura’s future potential, said, “When he was in high school, he matched up at the Emperor’s Cup, but I’m sure he will entrust him after he leaves the national team due to his age. It was a good summer to prepare for next year’s World Cup.”

And next year, Rui Hachimura was named as a key person for Japan to win the World Cup, which will be held in Japan, the Philippines, and Indonesia.

“I am both excited and anxious about Rui Hachimura playing under HC Tom Horvath. Unless he (Hachimura) shows up and performs well, it will be difficult to win at the world level. , I’m looking forward to seeing how they will fight next year.”

Looking ahead to the B League, which will start soon, Togashi is likely to be the center of attention this season as well, saying, “From the beginning of the season, we will be heading into the season at full throttle. Our goal is to win the championship. I think people will see the new Chiba Jets.” .

He also talked about his thoughts on the upcoming World Cup 2023 when the season is over. “Unfortunately, I was unable to play last time (at the 2019 tournament) due to an injury.

I will do my best to liven up the

At the end of the event, everyone took a commemorative photo with Mr. Togashi, making it an unforgettable day for the participants.

After the event, an interview with Togashi was conducted by Alpine Group Magazine. We will also deliver the pattern.

◆High school students are a period when their physical growth and physical abilities grow rapidly, so it is important to prevent injuries.

――Zamst “BRAVE-PAD SHORTS,” which Togashi was also involved in developing, what kind of players would you recommend it to? What are the benefits of using support and care products?

Basketball players can fall during a game, so I would like to recommend it for injury prevention regardless of which player, including the waist and buttocks. Especially short players like me often hit the knees of big players when they dribble. I was injured every time, so the “BRAVE-PAD SHORTS” are a great help in preventing injuries to my thighs.

――Please tell us about your mental advice when you get injured.

Obviously, I would regret it if I got injured due to my lack of preparation, but I don’t really care about it because there are times when you can’t avoid getting injured while you are doing your best in intense sports, including matches.

I had to withdraw from the World Cup due to an injury, so the timing was difficult, but I didn’t mind it too much.

――Alpen Group Magazine is a media that is often seen by club students. I would like to ask you about your high school days.

When I was a student, I couldn’t see how to practice on YouTube as much as I do now. However, I was lucky enough to study abroad in the United States, so I experienced new training and practice methods that I had never done in Japan under the guidance of that coach. I enjoyed every day. After becoming a professional, I came to think that “practice is quality”, but I think that quantity and time are more important than quality when I was a student.

When I was in high school, I lived a few minutes walk from school, so I went to the gym and devoted myself to shooting practice. I think that time is alive now.

――Is there any injury prevention that I should be aware of while I was a student?

There is an environment where taping is done every game and practice after becoming a professional, but it is difficult for students because they don’t have money or have a trainer. When I was in high school, it was the rule of the team to wear an ankle supporter during practice, which helped prevent injuries.

High school students are in a period when their bodies grow and their physical abilities grow rapidly, so they sometimes cut ligaments because they move too much. Muscle training is important not only for supporters, so I want you to study as much knowledge as possible. I want you to be aware that a serious injury will affect your future competitive life.

In that sense, I think the Zamst supporters are by far the best. No matter which school I look at, I see players wearing one or two. I think it’s better to put on a player who is anxious or a player who wants to prevent it.

――Finally, please give a shout out to club activities and students who are doing their best in basketball.

I also had a lot of rich experiences during my student days. I want you to do your best so that you won’t regret it.

Enjoy the few moments you have with your friends and teammates. I want you to enjoy basketball as much as you can right now.
