Ian Godoi Torres is a young man from Magellan who has made judo his passion, striving to achieve great results that are now bearing fruit, for example, currently being in first place in the federated ranking of his category or belonging to the Promesas Chile program of the Ministry of Sport.

The 14-year-old student is preparing to represent the country in the South American Judo to be held the first week of November in Córdoba and from the 22nd to the 24th of the same month, for the Children’s Pan American to be held in Panama City.

Without a doubt, competing brings great challenges, between training, studies at the Leumag school and his life in full adolescence, added to the effort to raise the necessary money to be able to compete. According to his mother, Scarlette Torres Vinés, the realization of his dreams and projects would not be possible without the support of his close ones, both family, friends, the school itself and the YamaHarashi Judo club to which he belongs, since his category does not receive funding. state.

That is why, during this period prior to the trip, various events are being held for the benefit of the young man and his sensei, Sandra Moreno, in addition to receiving altruistic donations for the trip to Córdoba, since the tickets were purchased thanks to the contribution of the Center of Padres de Leumag and the club and the stay in the Argentine city still needs to be covered. Along with this, they are already saving for the Pan American, where they will need about 2 million pesos for costs.
