Fallen into WTA Tour anonymity and currently ranked 203e world, Nadia Podoroska, surprise semi‐finalist at Roland‐Garros in 2020, recently revealed her homosexuality in an interview with our colleagues from clay tennis.
The 25-year-old Argentinian notably received strong support and congratulations from the legendary Billie Jean King. “Congratulations to WTA player Nadia Podoroska on her announcement. Living authentically takes such courage, but it is always worth it”wrote the one who gave her name to the new version of the Fed Cup on her Twitter account.
A few weeks after the Russian number one, Daria Kasatkina, it is therefore the turn of a new player to “come out of the closet”.
