Will Weaver (coach Paris): “Jeremy Evans will bring his mastery and his experience”

During its first home Eurocup, Paris Basketball was defeated on the pitch and in the stands. Hapoel Tel Aviv, with its many supporters, extinguished Will Weaver’s men (86-100). Reaction of the coach in a press conference.

Will Weaver, Paris Basketball coach, after the game: “The atmosphere was fantastic, that’s what basketball allows. The atmosphere, the energy here, three days after the match at Roland-Garros and its 10,000 supporters, is great for Paris Basketball. It was the first European evening at home, you have to give yourself time.
There are several reasons for our failure. First of all, they were superior in transition play, in runs. The Tel Aviv coach’s strategy was excellent, his players were of a higher level. Their workforce is very extensive, deeper than ours. Every returning player could play at a high level during their minutes. These things made the difference. We must be clear, the match was for them. But it’s exciting, it motivates us to continue the battle in this competition.
Jeremy Evans (whose arrival was made official on Monday) will bring this mastery of the rebound, offensive and defensive, verticality in our game and additional energy in the group. I also appreciate the idea that he can give us all his experience at the top European level, it’s very valuable for our young guys. He is an excellent basketball player and I am delighted to have him on our team.
Our young players produced a good game, it’s a unique opportunity for them to develop at this level and prove their values on the pitch. They are NBA-level players, talented, but still under construction. »
