Virgil van Dijk: “Lucho has a lot of potential”

The presence of Luis Díaz in Liverpool is missed. Virgil van Dijk was the last to praise the Colombian’s performance, which was the highest level in the team’s tough start to the season. The Dutch defender assured that the winger is an incredible player and that he will continue to grow at the club to leave the mark that until now the Brazilians who are part of the payroll have left.

Van Dijk’s praise for Lucho has been constant. In April and August he referred to his teammate as a “fantastic” player. This time, in dialogue with SportsCenter, he ruled that the potential he has will be essential to continue contributing to Liverpool.

“With the Brazilians, it is difficult to say who is the best, I have played much more with them than with Luis, for now. But he is an incredible player, he has a lot of potential. He will improve and he will surely be up there with Alisson, Firmino, Fabinho. They have been amazing for so many years. Lucho definitely has a lot of potential.”said the defender.

The Colombian’s injury has not been the only one that has affected Klopp’s planning for the matches. Jota was also sidelined and this has cost the German coach to find solutions. The change of module and the performance of players like Carvalho and Núñez, little by little has been serving to resume the level. Nevertheless, for former Liverpool, John Aldridge with the presence of Díaz and Diogo “the result would be different”.

Luis Díaz, in recovery amid Globe Soccer nomination

The winger along with Linda Caicedo were the only Colombians to be on the list of nominees in their different categories to the awards that will be presented on November 17 in Dubai. Luis who is still without a defined time back on the courts continues to recover from the injury he sustained in early October.

On October 11, Klopp referred to the Colombian’s loss and assured that it was not as serious as it seemed at first. “Lucho, what is it, six to eight weeks or whatever? We’ll see how long. It seems that he will recover quickly, but we have to be careful. It could have been worse, the way he came out of the game.”

Liverpool for now occupies eighth place in the Premier table with 16 units, 12 less than the leader Arsenal. In the Champions League they qualified for the round of 16 and there are 5 games left before the break for the World Cup. Diaz is expected to be available for their return to competition on December 26 when they visit Aston Villa.
