VIDEO ⟩ Merzlikin replaces Tarasov, Blue Jackets lose to Coyotes

The “Blue Jackets” lost to the Arizona “Coyotes” at home with a score of 3:6 (0:2, 0:2, 3:2).

Tarasov played 35 minutes and saved eight of 12 opponents’ shots (66.7%).

Merzlikin went on the field at the end of the second period, when the score was 0:4. The Latvian played less than 23 minutes and saved five of six shots (83.3%).

Coyotes goaltender Connor Ingram made 30 of 33 shots (90.9%).

Shane Gostisbear had two goals and an assist and Clayton Keller had three assists for the winners.

Defenseman Jake Bean had two assists for the Blue Jackets, while Johnny Goodreau, Kent Johnson and Andrew Peek scored.

With six points in eight games, Columbus ranks second to last in the Metropolitan Division and also in the entire Eastern Conference.

Arizona is 13th in the Eastern Conference and last in the Central Division with four points in six games.
