USA basketball players beat China and once again triumph in the World Cup

USA basketball players beat China in the final with a score of 83:61 (18:13, 25;20, 25:14, 15:14), which won silver for the second time in history.

Among the American women, Aija Wilson was the top scorer with 19 points. Kelsey Plum had 17 points, Jewel Lloyd had 11 points and Chelsea Gray had 10 points and eight assists.

For China, Yueru Li had a double-double with 19 points and 12 rebounds, while Taunton Wu scored 13 points and Xiu Wang added 11 points.

Wilson, who averaged 17.2 points and 7.5 rebounds in each match, was recognized as the most valuable player of the tournament. She was joined in the symbolic five by Canadian Bridget Carlton, Chinese Han Xu, American Brianna Stewart and Steph Talbot from Australia.

In the previous World Cup in 2018, the USA basketball players also triumphed, and now they have won 11 of the 19 held tournaments.

Meanwhile, Chinese basketball players have never won gold at the World Cup, but they have two second-place finishes. The Chinese women reached the World Cup final for the first time in 1994.

It has already been reported that in the fight for the bronze medals, Australia with the player of Latvian origin Sāra Blicavs in the lineup defeated Canada with a score of 95:65.
