Universidad de Chile seals its debut in the Women’s Copa Libertadores with a convincing victory

(EFE) – Universidad de Chile debuted this Friday in the Women’s Copa Libertadores with a 3-1 victory against Dragonas del Independiente del Vallein the match that opened Group C of the continental tournament.

Yessenia Huenteo, Rebeca Fernández and Daniela Fernández scored the goals for Universidad de Chile, while Claudia Roldán shortened the difference for the Ecuadorians.

Due to technique, good control of the ball, physical and football display, the Chileans left the feeling of having achieved very little with the 1-1 in the first half, but they achieved the effectiveness they were looking for in the second half.

Universidad de Chile took the lead with a precise definition by Huenteo who, after receiving a deep pass from Llanka Groff, between midfielders and defenders, beat goalkeeper Irene Tobar with a low shot, at minute 15.

The erratic, divided passes and the lack of clarity from the middle of the field towards the opposite goal, were clear deficiencies of the Ecuadorians.

Independiente del Valle equalized with a perfect free kick by Roldán who, from about 27 meters, made the ball go in the direction of the upper right corner, in the 17th minute.

In addition to Huenteo’s goal, Zamora hit the ball with a splendid header that hit the crossbar, and towards the end of the first half, Huenteo also launched a shot that Tobar just caught.

Rebecca Fernandezwho entered for the second half, took advantage of a rebound from the local defenses, to score the second goal of the University of Chile with a cross shot, in the 58th minute.

The insistence of the University of Chile was rewarded with the third goal, scored by Zamora, who received a pass between the lines of Fernanda Pinilla and aimed a shot that the local goalkeeper failed to control, at minute 70.

In one of the last attacks of the Chileans, Ana Huertas crashed the ball into the crossbar, after a shot in the form of a center from the right side, which could have been the fourth goal for U.
