The police have arrested two suspects on suspicion of involvement in the robbery of Ajax captain Dusan Tadic at the end of July. It concerns men aged 19 and 26, the police confirm after reporting from The Parool.

The 26-year-old suspect was arrested last Friday at Waterlandplein in the Amsterdam North district. The nineteen-year-old man was arrested at IJburg on Monday morning. The two will be presented to the examining magistrate on Tuesday, the police report.

The raid on Tadic took place in the night of 27 to 28 July near the Serb’s house in Amsterdam South. Tadic, 33, was attacked when he got out of his car. He put up a good fight and managed to open the visor of one of the robbers’ helmets and slap him. He then fled into a restaurant with torn clothes.

The suspects did not take anything. It is still unclear what exactly they were aiming for.

Despite the minor injuries, Tadic did not miss a game due to the robbery. Two days later he already played in the battle for the Johan Cruijff Scale, which Ajax lost 3-5 to PSV.
