Winners of the Tournament of Champions

American Chris Evert won the first year of the Tournament of Champions in 1972. The legendary Martina Navrátilová became the historically most successful player of the tournament, who won a total of eight titles. After five triumphs, American Serena Williams and German tennis player Steffi Graf won.

Martina Navrátilová only won her titles under the American flag, so the Czech Republic had to wait until 1997 for its first trophy thanks to Jana Novotná. Petra Kvitová won the second title for the Czechia in 2011. Helena Suková and Hana Mandlíková lost in 1985 and 1986, in the final.
