The Salvador Lecuona Tennis Tournament pays tribute to Tenerife women of yesterday, today and tomorrow

Last Saturday, October 22, and within the framework of the Salvador Lecuona charity tennis tournament, an acknowledgment was held for women from the Canarian society of yesterday, today and tomorrow. The tournament, which has been held for 21 years now, takes place over five weekends in October at the Salvador Lecuona Insular Tennis Center, which is managed by the Ideco company of the Cabildo de Tenerife, and every Saturday there is a meeting/ tribute to different groups.

On this occasion, they wanted to offer a warm tribute to 21 women who have been and are an example of life, of professionalism, in very diverse fields and activities in society.

Tribute

The women’s basketball team of the Real Club Náutico de Tenerife of the First Autonomous Division was present at the event, who was also honored as a future generation, and they were the ones who gave some details to the participants in the event.

The “Salvador Lecuona” Tournament is an event that was born with the idea of ​​promoting tennis and, above all, of loving this sport and making one’s partner better. Its motto “for the love of the game”, includes the values ​​that it intends to transmit, such as camaraderie and solidarity. Every year most of the money collected is allocated to a school or association for sports equipment, and toys are distributed on the pediatric ward of the Nuestra Señora de La Candelaria hospital.
