The Province of Buenos Aires became champion in the Evita Games, Mar del Plata contributed 14 medals | Infobrisas

This Saturday ended the finals of the Evita Games that took place in Mar del Plata with the participation of more than 25 thousand young people from all over the country. The province of Buenos Aires became champion by obtaining 69 gold medals, 55 silver and 53 bronze.

Córdoba was second in the medal table with 30 gold, 11 silver and 14 bronze. Meanwhile, the third place went to the province of Santa Fe with 28 gold medals, 27 silver, and 25 bronze.

A total of 55 disciplines were disputed distributed in more than 100 sports venues in clubs, beaches and sports centers. This year debuted futsal, tennis, archery, skateboarding and mixed 7-a-side football, badminton, mixed 3-a-side football for the blind and powerlifting.

The Minister of Tourism and Sports of the Nation, Matías Lammens, highlighted the organization of the Evita Games, and stated that “we are very happy, the truth is that from the first to the last day it was a spectacular party. Boys and girls from all provinces meeting, having fun, making friends, many of which may last a lifetime. And several and several even getting to know the sea”.

Mar del Plata obtained 14 medals

The city of Mar del Plata had the participation of 66 athletes, who contributed 8 gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze medals to the Buenos Aires delegation that became champion of the national contest.

In athletics, four athletes obtained 3 medals, 2 gold and one bronze. Joaquina Durá took first place in the triple jump (11.33 meters), Juana Zuberbuhler at the top of the 800 meters (2m23s22) and Brisa Medina with the bronze in the 2000 meters. (7m15s78)

In adapted swimming, athletes Bautista Beredo and Inti Mantz added three gold medals. Bautista in the 25m backstroke S12 (33s29) and Init in the 25m épée S14 (23s20) and butterfly S14 19s16. Also, the Mar del Plata synchronized swimming quartet added two gold and three silver.

In children, Catalina López won the silver medal in figures with 44.1049 points, together with Roció Lagunas in a duet, with a score of 90.77786, they won the silver medal. In juveniles, they added two gold medals, in duet Sofía Berardi and Ornella Vidal with a total of 105.6592 points and in solo Sofía with 107.8679.

In basketball, Mar del Plata had three teams. In the 5×5 men’s 15 they kept the gold medal after beating Entre Ríos 77-76 and in the women’s sub 17 they kept the silver after losing to Mendoza 76-58.

In the 3×3 modality, the sub 14s could not against Santa Fé and fell 13-12.

In beach volleyball, the Taccone/Romeo duo defeated La Pampa 2-1 (20-22, 21-11 and 15-11) and won the bronze medal.

In volleyball there were two local men’s teams. In sub 17 they fell 2-0 (27-25 and 25-23) against Misiones and were 6th, while in sub 15, they were 21st, after beating Tierra del Fuego 2-0 (25-19 and 25- 17)

In martial arts, there was also a presence from Mar del Plata under 14. Federica Cañete in karate was 5th and Javier Martin in judo was 6th.

Finally, in skate Yesica Morena Cover it 4th with 98.67 points. In climbing Lucila Hosez Olavarry, she was 13th out of 27, with 280 points.
