The national goalkeeper Mete Gazoz is third in the 2022 World Cup in Mexico

National Olympic champion archer Mete Gazoz finished the final of the Mexico Archery World Cup 2022 with a bronze medal.

In the final held in Tlaxcala, Mexico, Mete Gazoz defeated his Italian rival Mauro Nespoli in the quarterfinals and advanced to the semifinals.

Losing to Miguel Alvarino Marcia of Spain in the semifinals, Gazoz won the bronze medal by defeating Kim Je Deok 6-4 in the match for third place.

South Korean goalkeeper Kim Woo-jin won the final of the world cup 2022, while the Spanish Miguel Alvarino García obtained the second place.

For his part, the national archer, Mete Gazoz, was selected as the best male archer in classical archery in 2021 by the World Archery Federation.

Mete was deemed worthy of this award for the second time after 2018.

As a result of the vote by journalists and World Archery Federation Board members, Mete Gazoz was named athlete of the year 2021 and Yusuf Göktuğ Ergin was named coach of the year.

The president of the World Archery Federation, Prof. Dr. Uğur Erdener presented their awards to the coach of the national teams Yusuf Göktuğ Ergin and Mete Gazoz presented their awards.
