It’s a last minute shot, it’s a sensation shot. The 23rd edition of La Prevostura will have Simone Avondetto at the start, that is the one who in cross country has won everything there was to win among the Under 23: Italian, European and above all world title, driving all the fans crazy and placing his authoritative candidacy for a blue jersey at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. Avondetto will race with the number 1 and will be accompanied on his adventure by his teammate in the Wilier Pirelli Factory Team Gioele De Cosmo, another leading athlete on the national scene.
A truly exceptional edition is therefore expected, considering the presence of the outgoing champion, the Colombian Diego Alfonso Arias Cuervo (Hubbers Polimedical) who will surely give battle, like the former Italian champion Juri Ragnoli (Scott) and Marco Rebagliati (Wilier 7C) Force) multiple winner this year in the Piedmontese Granfondo. The scene of the clash will be the beautiful 48 km by 1,400 meters course inaugurated last year. There will also be a medium track, 22 km by 800 meters open to cyclists, while those belonging to the youth categories will take part in the Winter Cross Country Championship, which will start at 10:30.
The main race will instead start at 9:45 am from the Lessona Sports Facilities. Registrations are still open for 30 euros, who will provide on the spot will have to pay 5 more.
