The 3×3 teams prepare for the AmeriCup in Miami

The men’s and women’s 3×3 teams will train starting this Monday while awaiting their trip to the United States this Wednesday to compete in the continental competition.

A new challenge begins for the 3×3 selections. After the experience in Asunción with the Odesur Games, in which the women’s team reached the semifinals and the men’s team reached the quarterfinals, it is time to face a new continental adventure: the Americup in Miami, United States.

With a view to this contest, the coaches of each branch, Luciano Santín and Sofía Castillo, made their respective calls and organized a series of training sessions together with the director of this area, Carlos Spellanzón. The practices will be in double shift on Monday and Tuesday, while on Wednesday they will train in the morning and travel to the city of Miami at night.

In the men’s category, those summoned are Agustín Wolinsky, Jorge Quercetti, Genaro Lorio and Agustín Diz Ríos. On the female side, Natacha Pérez, Sofia Acevedo, Camila Peri and Victoria Fontana were chosen.

As for the tournament, Argentina will share a group with Puerto Rico and Trinidad and Tobago in men, while in women, it will do so with Chile and Jamaica. Both teams will begin to compete on Friday the 4th against their regional rivals, and must finish in the top two to advance to the quarterfinals.
