Urbāns competed in group B and successfully succeeded in all three attempts in the tug of war with weights of 110, 116 and 120 kilograms. On the other hand, in the push, the representative of Latvia managed 130 kilograms with the first attempt, followed by two unsuccessful attempts to lift 135 kilograms.
Meanwhile, nine athletes competed in Group A, among whom the victory was won by a Georgian weightlifter who lifted a total of 328 kilograms (146+182). Italian Lorenzo Tarquino took the second place with a total lift of 323 kilograms (145+178), while the top three was completed by Armenian representative Mnatsakan Abrahamyan, who also managed 323 kilograms (143+180).
Urban lifted a total of 250 kilograms, which gave him tenth place overall.
Ilya Sokolovs and Daniela Ivanova will also compete in the European Junior Championship, while Armands Mežinskis will compete in the parallel U-23 European Championship.
