The red land returns to the national calendar. The 150th Anniversary Cup of the Deliberative Council of Posadas was officially launched last Wednesday, a contest that will mark the debut of a men’s tournament of the professional circuit of the Argentine Tennis Association (AAT) in the province.

“This circuit is the previous step for the boys to enter the ITF international circuit. Most of the dates are played in Buenos Aires, Tucumán and Santa Fe.For this reason, both from the club and from the Federation we ask for a date with the aim of bringing our tennis players closer to a high-level competition, so that they can add experience”, Messa explained yesterday to THE SPORT .

The contest will start on Monday from 9 at the ITC and the final will be played on Friday, November 4.The table is 48 players and the appointment has no qualy.

Regarding the missionaries, René Yegros Codiani and Thiago Messa have already been confirmed, while Mateo Labuckas from El Dorado is waiting for these hours. However, wild card requests were also sent to the AAT for local youth Joaquín Cardozo, Juan Cruz López, Tiziano Arriola and U-14 Lautaro Quintana. In case of receiving a special invitation, the four would debut as professionals.

“One of the objectives is that, if everything goes well now, to aim for a fixed date for next year. And we are even thinking of having two ProTour dates in Misiones”, confirmed Messa.

The missionary leader thanked the support of private sponsors and stressed that the landing of the ProTour was possible mainly due to the self-financing of Itapúa itself. “It is a pride that our club has competitions of this level again. The idea is to position Misiones again on the Argentine tennis map. We invite people to come and see a very high level of tennis”, he closed.
