Talquinas students triumphed in the final of the Soprole UC basketball honor category

Colegio Montessori de Talca beat SSCC Alameda with 59 points versus 41.

Last Thursday, in Santiago, specifically in the gymnasium of the Universidad Católica Club, the final of the Soprole Basketball Honor Lady Superior category was held, where the athletes from the Montessori School of Talca shone. The Maulinas kept the cup after beating SSCC Alameda by 59 points, which only got 41.

The great figures of the competition were Rocío Poblete and Antonia Pérez, both with 14 goals on the Montessori side. From the SSCC, Gabriela Riquelme stood out, who contributed 20 points for her team.

Another student who stood out in her role as forward point guard for the winners was the national preselected Carla Torres, who indicated that “playing from such youngsters together, plus the learning obtained from the World Cup, helped us get the game forward. ”.

For her part, the coach of the talquinas, Maciel Cerda, maintained that “the girls came with a touch, with a different training when facing great world teams and that helped them achieve the cup.”

Paula Silva, manager of the same team commented that “with my husband we travel in a private car to support my daughter and whenever we can travel we do so. And this time it was no different.”

It should be noted that the Maulinas played with the uniforms they used to represent Chile, in September, during the World School Championship in Serbia, Belgrade, organized by the International Federation of School Sports.
