Eagles defeat Cowboys 26-17 to preserve perfect record
Jalen Hurts threw for 155 yards, including two touchdowns, CJ Gardner-Johnson had two of three interceptions off Cooper Rush and the Philadelphia Eagles went undefeated with a 26-17 win over the Philadelphia Eagles. Dallas Cowboys, Sunday night.
The Eagles held on after seeing their 20-0 lead melt to 20-17 early in the fourth quarter. They improved their record to 6-0 for the first time since 2004, when they won their first seven games and made it to the Super Bowl.
The Eagles ended the game with an effective offensive streak that elapsed more than half of the last quarter.
During the streak, the Eagles converted three third downs before Hurts spotted DeVonta Smith for a seven-yard touchdown. Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs then ripped off his helmet and threw it to the ground angrily.
The Eagles then missed the conversion by two points and took a 26-17 lead.
Hurts got the opener on two of third downs thanks to a run. The Eagles needed those decisive runs after the Cowboys (4-2) managed to get back into the game.
Ezekiel Elliott scored a major on a 14-yard rush in the third quarter to make it 20-10. Rush, who struggled, threw a seven-yard pass to Jake Ferguson in the fourth quarter to make it 20-17.
Rush led the Cowboys to four straight victories as a substitute for injured Dak Prescott, but was overtaken by events on Sunday night. In particular, he came up against the Eagles’ defense, which ranks second in the NFL in points on turnovers.
Rush had two of his passes intercepted in the first half that led to 10 Eagles points.
Dolphins lose game 24-16 to Vikings

Named the starter because the Miami Dolphins’ two regular quarterbacks were on National Football League concussion protocols, Skylar Thompson had to leave the field during the second quarter of Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings.
Dolphins executives said Thompson was being evaluated for a possible right thumb injury.
They added that Thompson was a questionable case to return to action on Sunday, without specifying the severity of the injury. Thompson was on the sidelines in the second half, his thumb protected by a bandage.
He didn’t return in the game, however, as the Vikings won 24-16, handing the Dolphins a third straight loss.
Thompson is the Dolphins’ third quarterback behind Tua Tagovailoa and Teddy Bridgewater. The names of Tagovailoa and Bridgewater were removed from the protocols on Saturday.
Bridgewater took over on Sunday after Thompson left the field.
Tagovailoa was inactive for the clash against the Vikings, but everything indicates that he will be in charge next Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
During the Dolphins’ first three offensive series, Thompson completed seven of 13 passes for 89 yards.
For his part, Bridgewater completed 23 of 34 passes for 329 yards. He threw two touchdown passes, but also had two interceptions.
Giants erase 10-point deficit to defeat Ravens 24-20

Saquon Barkley scored a one-yard touchdown with one minute and 43 seconds left to help the New York Giants erase a 10-point fourth-quarter deficit and beat the Baltimore Ravens 24-20 on Sunday.
A pass intercepted by Julian Love and a return from 27 yards put Barkley on the doorstep of the end zone.
The New York defense, led by former Ravens coordinator Wink Martindale, caused two turnovers at the expense of Lamar Jackson late in the fourth quarter. After Barkley’s decisive touchdown, Keyvon Thibodeaux made a sack and then caused a fumble that confirmed another surprising victory for the Giants (5-1). The Ravens (3-3) suffered a late comeback for the third time this season.
Under new head coach Brian Daboll, the Giants have already scored more wins than in the 2021 season.
Daniel Jones threw touchdown passes to Wan’Dale Robinson and Daniel Bellinger. The second cut the Ravens’ lead to 20-17 with 6:53 left in the game.
In the loss, Kenyan Drake rushed for 119 yards, including a 30-yard touchdown. Jackson then spotted Mark Andrews in the end zone and extended the Ravens’ lead to 20-10 early in the final quarter.
Justin Tucker had two short field goals for the Ravens while his Giants counterpart Graham Gano completed one.
Despite gaining 256 yards in the first half and giving up just 90, the Ravens led 10-7 at halftime.
The Jets continue their advance with a 27-10 win at Green Bay

Breece Hall rushed for 116 yards, including a 34-yard sprint for a touchdown, and the surprising New York Jets made four quarterback sacks against Aaron Rodgers en route to a 27-10 win over the Green Packers Bay Sunday afternoon.
The Jets (4-2) posted a third straight win and are off to their best six-game start since 2015. They were also 4-2 that season before finishing the season with a 10-6 record .
The Jets haven’t made the playoffs since the 2010 season, the longest running drought of its kind in the National Football League. “It just shows we’re improving,” said Hall, a rookie who quickly became an offensive leader. After the Jets’ defense stopped the Packers on their next offensive streak, Michael Clemons blocked a punt and Will Parks got the ball back before going 20 yards to the pay zone. Before the end of the third quarter, the Packers cut the Jets’ lead with a 25-yard touchdown pass from Rodgers to Allen Lazard.
However, the Jets quickly regained control and put the game away with Hall’s 34-yard run early in the fourth quarter. The Jets then led 24-10 after the conversion.
Rodgers finished the game with 26 completions on 41 attempts for 241 yards and came close to committing turnovers in the Packers’ first two offensive series.
