Reported from ASthe Spanish national team is preparing a squad ahead of the 2022 World Cup. Coach Luis Enrique slowly selects from 55 players until finally it becomes 25 players.

David De Gea was one of the first names to be crossed out. De Gea reportedly lost competitiveness with Spanish goalkeepers who play in the Premier League.

The exclusion of David De Gea from the Spanish national team is nothing new. Because since the end of 2020, the 31-year-old goalkeeper has not been called to the Matador Country team.

De Gea also did not strengthen Spain in the UEFA Nations League. Luis Enrique has also publicly stated the criteria for the goalkeeper he is interested in.

“I need a goalkeeper who can provide transitions and calm to the team. It doesn’t matter if you make mistakes, because that’s part of football,” he explained.

“I have to choose three goalkeepers as soon as possible,” he concluded.
