Senna. The US Senna omnisports: the bleeding finally stopped

The general assembly of the US Senna omnisports took place on Friday. Bob Giquel, its president, is relieved that the downsizing is finally over: We have lost 119 licensees over the past three years. We are 249, compared to 246 in 2021, thanks to badminton, which has gone from 40 to 64 members. The president recalls that, as long as he is president, the US Senna will mean sports union, that is to say union between the sections, but also union between the licensees. Treasurer Michel Morio is pleased with the good financial performance of the sections. Pascal Beyrand, vice-president, recounts the three strengths of omnisports: solidarity ; responsibility, because we must give our members what they need in terms of equipment and supervision; finally, we are good managers and good fathers of families. Budgets are tight to be able to build a mattress to continue to be supportive, if necessary. This mattress is the fruit of our predecessors.

For badminton, the year looks good. We are still receiving registrations. On November 27, we will hold our tournament for the benefit of the Thaïs association, explains its president. At Cousteau, we struggle, because of the brightness which blinds the players. We look forward to returning to our new premises.

The hand section is pleased with its 130 licensees: We have created a women’s team, a baby section and a leisure section rejoices Clément Le Franc, player of the club.

A great party for the entry of associations to Le Derf

Pascal Beyrand, for judo, notes that combat sports have suffered since the Covid period. Today we have 40 members. 40 is not much compared to the 150 we had before. We know that this decline is cyclical, we must bring young people back, by conveying the values of judo . In the best years, nihon thai jitsu had 40 licensees. Today we are ten, regrets Yves Leroy, president of the section. In addition to the Covid, this drop is due to the departure of teachers who have left the club. The bike section took advantage of Association Day to recruit three new licensees: Today we are 24.

Régis Facchinetti, assistant to the buildings, affirms that the Le Derf complex is a tool that the Sinagotes associations lack. We will have to make heavy decisions. Every Friday morning, in a site meeting, we do our best to solve the problem. We will have a great party for the entry of the associations into the new Le Derf complex.
