Russell Westbrook and the worst night of a Los Angeles Lakers player in 57 years

Russell Westbrook had had a decent debut against the Warriors, a game that ended with 19 points, 11 rebounds and an effective 7 of 12 from the field. However, in the Lakers’ second game of the season, that reappeared Russ totally imprecise and unreliablewho seems to feel the pressure of playing in front of a hometown angel crowd (He has 41.2% in home games and 47.2% as visitors).

So bad was Westbrook in the loss to the Clippers, that his shooting record was not seen with the Lakers jersey for 57 years. The former Wizards ended with a resounding 0 of 11 from the field and 0 of 6 in triples. And unlike other nights, she didn’t even contribute much in other areas, beyond a couple of good defenses: 3 rebounds and 4 assists in 27 minutes, along with 2 points.

In the history of the Los Angeles franchise, there was only three players with worst nights with the release and to find them you have to go back to a totally different era of competition. The most recent? Darrall Imhoff and 1965who shot 0 for 12 from the field against the Royals.

The worst night with the shot for a Laker is still the 0 de 13 the Dick Chnittker in a duel against Syracuse in 1957, although in that case, the franchise played in Minneapolis.

Of course Westbrook wasn’t the only one. guard for the Lakers with the rim closed: Patrick Beverley went 1-7 from the field and there was another 0-7 for Kendrick Nunn. 1 of 25 from the field between three of the main ball carriers of the Laker roster. Too.

The truth is that the Lakers were left with 0-2 mark and performances like these will do no more than strengthen the rumors about a possible transfer of a Westbrook who obviously is not at all comfortable in the team.
