Rui Pinto admits that he was waiting for “some small change”, but Football Leaks “only ended up causing damage”

IN UPDATE

Rui Pinto denied this Monday that he had created a Facebook profile that served to make publications to humiliate Sporting: “This was part of a strategy by Benfica, with its digital army”, explained the hacker, in another session of the trial taking place this morning at the Lisbon Central Criminal Court.

He also denied that he had made the publication “Catch me if you can” – a publication much talked about in the media at the time.

The 34-year-old hacker released more details in court about Football Leaks and reiterated what he had already said in other sessions: they did not receive any kind of donation from Football Leaks. But he assumed that he “was waiting for enough, a few small bucks to continue the project.” “It ended up doing nothing but damage,” he summarized.

Contributions were requested in bitcoins, on the Football Leaks website. But “people don’t like to spend money,” he concluded.

Rui Pinto declares that he became aware of a “deal” between a member of the PJ and Nélio Lucas, in 2015: “Nélio Lucas [da Doyen] he would deliver the brand report, from a private investigation, and the PJ would give the suspect’s name. My name was given on November 26, 2015 by a PJ element to Nélio Lucas, putting my life at risk”.

He also says that, after that, he was threatened by Doyen: “With that information, they contacted a law firm to get more details from a judicial officer. They had access to my personal data, shared it with Pedro Henriques (lawyer) who passed it on to Nélio Lucas and from there they started threatening me by email, saying that they were going to make personal information public (name, parents’ address, etc.) . And they managed to gain access to the Cayman Islands process.”
