Anderlecht won on Sunday against KAS Eupen. Before the match there was a lot to do about Veldman’s selection.
There was no trace of a man in form Verschaeren due to injury. The playmaker’s pain continued to increase on Sunday. “We don’t want to make the injury worse,” Veldman said. It is not yet clear when he can return.
Despite that downer, Verschaeren’s injury also offered the opportunity to discover two positive things: Théo Leoni and Anouar Ait El Hadj. The Anderlecht fans have known them for some time, of course, but Leoni only made his debut on Sunday at the age of 22.
And he did that very well. On Twitter, the supporters are more than satisfied with his substitute: “What a boss” and “What a good debut”, the viewers noted. The fans also saw El Hadj score a gem: “What a technique!”
