“Real” defeats “Barcelona” in the first Spanish football classic of the season

The Spanish championship match at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium in Madrid ended with a score of 3:1 (2:0) in favor of the hosts.

Already in the 12th minute of the game, “Real” players took the lead. At the start of the attack, Toni Kroos dropped the ball to Vinicius Junior, who made a shot after a quick raid. Marc-André ter Stegen hit the ball in front of him, from where Karim Benzema was unerring.

In the 35th minute of the match, the Madrid players broke the defense of the visitors and Federico Valverde strengthened the lead for the “Real” team – 2:0 with a strong and low shot from outside the penalty area. At the beginning of the second half, Benzema once again sent the ball into the goal guarded by ter Stegen, but the result remained unchanged due to the situation at the back.

Less than eight minutes before the end of regular time, Ansu Fati ran into the free zone and passed from the left side past the goal, from where Ferran Torres made no mistake – 1:2. A little later, Fati had a great chance to break the tie, but the ball hit by his acrobatic jump flew past the goal guarded by Andrij Lunin.

In the first minute of the compensation time, Rodrigo was delayed in the penalty area, who, after the involvement of VAR, realized his own “pendulum” and made it 3:1.

On Sunday, the 250th “el clasico” in history took place in Madrid and the Madrid footballers celebrated their 101st victory in this duel. “Barcelona” has won four matches less in this famous match.

With 25 points in nine games, “Real” Madrid occupies the first place in the tournament table, ahead of the vice-leader “Barcelona” by three points.
