Quincy Acy ends his career and converts to coaching

At 32, the former interior of Maccabi Tel Aviv and Olympiakos is starting a new career: that of individual coach, in the G-League.

A new chapter opens for Quincy Acy. The former NBAer, who was still playing in the Euroleague last season with Olympiakos, will no longer play basketball. The American has just been named individual coach of the Texas Legends, the G-League team affiliated with the Dallas Mavericks and based in Frisco, Texas.

“Just call me Coach Q!” This game took me around the world. I’ve discovered some of the most beautiful cultures, played with and against some of the greatest talent in the world, built relationships and shared real emotions with so many amazing souls at every stage. God has blessed me beyond my wildest dreams and I am thrilled to open this next chapter. To everyone I passed along the way, words cannot express how grateful I am. I will continue to share my passion and love for the game. To my wife, children and loved ones, you make me who I am. Thank you for the endless love, sacrifice and support,” he commented on Instagram.

Last season, he was scoring 4.3 points, 3.1 rebounds and 4.4 in 20 minutes over four Euroleague games with Olympiakos, which went all the way to the Final Four. He had previously passed through Maccabi Tel Aviv and China, after 337 NBA games for 4.9 points and 3.5 rebounds on average.
