Paris Basketball was a beneficiary in its match at Roland-Garros

Not only did Paris Basketball bring together 10,424 spectators – the second largest attendance in the history of the LNB – at Roland-Garros for its October 16 match against Monaco, but it also won money in the operation.

In a press release, Paris Basketball specifies that setting up this unique event, piloted entirely internally by the club’s teams, required:

  • 10 months of work – the first visits started in December 2021
  • 3 days of set up for the transformation of the Philippe-Chatrier court into a basketball court
  • 160 volunteers
  • Paris Basketball specifies the benefits derived from this relocation:
  • Financial: with a turnover of +250k€ excluding tax, the club is profitable on this event
  • Communication: + 40 articles published following the event in the French and foreign press including a report in the 19.45 of M6 (3.1M viewers) and more than 1M reachs for content posted on social networks
  • Recruitment: +2000 new emails collected and +1200 new customers

“With seats ranging from €12 (licensee price) to €350 (Jack Nicholson seats, premium seat at the end of the Paris players’ bench), the match event brought together a large audience ranging from young FFBB licensees to companies inviting their customers for hospitality, to basketball fans, to families who have come to have a good time. A melting pot in the image of the Paris Basketball public. More than a championship match, this meeting on the Central, the first for 74 years, was an opportunity to show off a superb basketball poster but also to offer a day of entertainment around the orange ball in the, if, privileged Stade Roland-Garros: stuntball activities, 3×3 basketball, e-sport, food courts… it was even possible to eat your burger or donuts in one of the famous Roland-Garros deckchairs on the Place des Mousquetaires before joining the Philippe Chatrier court for attend THE match of the day also broadcast on BeIN Sport,” writes the club.

Paris Basketball specifies that two other matches will be relocated this season.
