Padel – A sport that combines fun and socializing

Padel is a sport that is best described as 50% of a combination of tennis and squash and 50% fun, camaraderie and conviviality. The sport is easy to get started with and therefore appeals to a wide group of practitioners. It is a relatively new sport that is becoming really popular with many around the world. Padel can be played by anyone and is an easy and quick sport to learn. But if you have played tennis, squash or badminton, you have a clear advantage. Padel is a fun and addictive sport that makes you sweat. It is also a very social sport, as you either play doubles or singles.

A perfect sport

There are many good reasons to try playing padel. You don’t have to have played padel for long before you can actually start to challenge your opponent and possibly win matches. Padel is therefore very easy to learn, and if you have experience with tennis, badminton, squash or table tennis, you can certainly also play padel. Padel is the perfect way to get exercise with both friends and family. Padel is a game with lots of social and active togetherness, suitable for both family and friends. If you are one of those who suffer from bad knees or joint pain, padel is also a good way to get your body moving again. There are therefore no excuses, even if you are in some pain. The sport is far more gentle on muscles and joints than, for example, handball, badminton, running and football. You are not in contact with anyone during the sport, and you play on soft artificial grass instead of hard grass. Another great advantage of padel is that you don’t have to join a club to play. You can visit many of the country’s padel halls, where you pay for the hours you play. It gives enormous flexibility and you are not forced to leave on certain days.

Padel or padel tennis?

Some call it padel and others padel tennis. However, it’s just called padel. The reason why many probably still call it padel tennis is because when it was first introduced, it was under the name padel tennis. This is also largely due to the fact that if you called it padel tennis, it was also easier to explain the sport, as everyone knows about tennis. Today it just goes by the name padel, and if you still have friends or family members who call it padel tennis, you have to correct them.

Padel is for everyone

Regardless of whether you are a beginner or experienced, child or adult, male or female, you can play along.
