NFL: Russell Wilson will be absent against the New York Jets to treat an injury

The quarter Russel Wilson will not play Sunday’s game against the New York Jets due to a tendon injury. Head coach Nathaniel Hackett made the announcement.

Selon Adam Shefter d’ESPNthe decision to seat Russell would be to rest him and prevent another injury.

Reservist Brett Rypien will therefore be the starter.

Denver will reassess the star quarterback’s injury over the next week and decide if he’ll be able to play the next game against the Jacksonville Jaguars in London.

Wilson was injured in the fourth quarter in Monday night’s loss to the Los Angeles Chargers.

As for Rypien, he earned the reserve position this season, after spending three years on the practice squad or as a third quarterback. He only has one game of NFL experience. He threw for 242 yards with two touchdowns and three interceptions in the Broncos’ 37-28 win over the same Jets.

Les Packers sans Randall Cobb

The Green Bay Packers placed wide receiver Randall Cobb and offensive lineman Jake Hanson on injured reserve Saturday and removed receiver Sammy Watkins.

In anticipation of Sunday’s game against the Washington Commanders (2-4), Watkins remains a doubt.

Watkins missed four games with a hamstring problem and the Packers had to place his name on the injured reserve.

By placing the names of Cobb and Hanson on the disabled list, the Packers (3-3) will be deprived of their services for at least four games.

Cobb injured an ankle and Hanson suffered a bicep injury last Sunday in the Packers’ 27-10 loss to the New York Jets.
