NFL: Colts will be without Taylor and Hines on Sunday

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Colts will be without running backs Jonathan Taylor and Nyheim Hines in preparation for their all-important AFC South game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday afternoon.

The team management made the announcement on Saturday.

First in the National Football League last year in rushing yards, Taylor will miss a second straight game with an ankle injury.

During his first two seasons, he only missed one game, and that was because he was considered close contact during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Hines, for his part, went into concussion protocols after staggering off the field early in Thursday’s Oct. 6 game against the Denver Broncos.

Deon Jackson and Phillip Lindsay took over against the Broncos and will likely do so again after the Colts (2-2-1) promoted Lindsay from their practice squad to the main roster on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Colts head coach Frank Reich said star linebacker Shaquille Leonard will be out after undergoing surgery for a broken nose.
