NFL: Chiefs get their hands on Kadarius Toney

The Kansas City Chiefs have traded with the New York Giants to get their hands on former first-round pick Kadarius Toney.

In return for the wide receiver, the Giants receive a conditional third-round pick and a sixth-round pick.

Now 23, Toney was selected 20th overall in the 2021 NFL Draft by the Giants but has struggled to find a place in the organization.

The American played in 10 games last season, making 39 catches for 420 yards. This season, Toney has had just two catches for zero yards. The receiver has missed the past few weeks with a hamstring injury.

The Giants are off to a surprising start to the season, going 6-1, good for second place in the NFC East, behind the undefeated mighty Philadelphia Eagles.

For its part, Kansas City are 5-2 and sit first in their division.
